The Halo Collar App is a companion app for the Halo Collar, a smart GPS dog collar designed for wireless pet containment, tracking, and training. The app allows users to: • Create Virtual Fences anywhere without physical boundaries. • Track Your Dog in real time with precise GPS location updates. • Receive Alerts & Notifications if your pet leaves a safe zone. • Train with Cesar Millan’s Guidance, using built-in training tools.

The main problem was users' lack of understanding of the process of creating and editing fences.

The user almost always had to build the fence manually. It was tedious, confusing and very time-consuming. The main users are people between the ages of 35 and 60. It's pretty hard for them to hit the right spots on the map and move to the right places.

  • Automatically building a fence based on either the address entered by the user or the current location.

  • The functionality to turn on-off intersecting fences on the property was also envisioned.

  • In edit mode, hazardous areas where it was recommended not to build fences were added.

Also, users complained that they couldn't build a fence too close to a building or road. Unfortunately it is not possible to solve this problem from the technical side.
Here we had to make some help screens, which briefly explain how to build the fence manually.

Training Redesign

The problem with the trainings was that the application opened a third-party web resource where the user had to take a series of boring and not very clear courses. This took a lot of time due to long data loading and poor design.
Lack of motivation to take trainings was also a problem.

Final results

  • Performed a complete redesign of the Web site and Applications.

  • All elements parameters (dimensions, contrast, voice control, etc.) were implemented in accordance with ADA Compliance.

  • Redesigned UX for registration and ticketing processes.

  • Added a few more processes for gift card purchases and refunds.
